WESTBOROUGH, Mass., July 17, 2025 (TECH INFO SCENE) — Health technology company eClinicalWorks has announced its support for the CMS Digital Health Tech Ecosystem, a federal initiative launched to improve healthcare data interoperability across the U.S.
The initiative, led by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), aims to create a framework for seamless healthcare data sharing and real-time access to information for patients and providers.
In a press release, eClinicalWorks stated it will align with the CMS Interoperability Framework to support these goals. As part of its commitment, the company pledged to implement changes to its electronic medical record (EMR) systems to facilitate more efficient data exchange.
"We pledge to work collaboratively and become a CMS Aligned Network. This will empower our providers and patients to have real-time access to health information," said Girish Navani, CEO and cofounder of eClinicalWorks.
"eClinicalWorks pledges to enhance our systems, 'Kill the Clipboard,' to make it easy for patients to share information efficiently," Navani added.
Under the “Network Pledge,” eClinicalWorks committed to enabling patients, providers, and apps with access to real-time health data. Through the “EMR Pledge,” the company intends to eliminate clipboard-based data collection by integrating patient information via QR codes and Smart Health Cards or Links.
