Mitutoyo America Releases MCOSMOS V5.4 Metrology Software to Enhance CMM Efficiency

AURORA, Ill., July 17, 2025 (TECH INFO SCENE) — Metrology technology company, Mitutoyo America Corporation, has announced the release of MCOSMOS V5.4, the latest version of its metrology software suite for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), designed to improve operational speed, throughput, and automation capabilities.

According to the company, the MCOSMOS V5.4 software enhances usability by enabling faster setup and minimizing measurement delays. The update includes a redesigned CMM repeat mode that replaces menu-based navigation with direct-access buttons, and an updated PartManager that supports both online and offline modes, with expanded batch operation functionality.

The GEOPAK component of the suite features new tools such as a “parallel planes” element for angle, width, and flatness evaluations, and expanded support for ASME-compliant position tolerances. Additional improvements include enhanced 2D and 3D visualization tools, stylus sorting options, customizable 3D callout styles, and improved cone evaluation methods.

MCOSMOS V5.4 also introduces increased automation support through digital I/O and fieldbus communication, allowing integration with robots, signal lights, and other external devices. The software is compatible with modern operating systems including Windows 11 (Pro and Enterprise editions) and supports CAD formats such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, STEP, and CATIA.
