Intel Appoints Dr. Craig H. Barratt to Board of Directors

SANTA CLARA, Calif., November 10, 2025 (TECH INFO SCENE) — Semiconductor company Intel Corporation has appointed Dr. Craig H. Barratt to its board of directors as an independent director. The appointment is effective immediately.

Barratt brings more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor and technology sectors. He previously served as CEO of Atheros Communications, a developer of wireless semiconductor technology, where he led the company through its initial public offering and its $3.1 billion acquisition by Qualcomm.

He later joined Intel following its acquisition of Barefoot Networks, where he had been CEO, and went on to serve as senior vice president overseeing Intel’s ethernet, photonics, and networking businesses. Earlier in his career, Barratt held leadership roles at Google, where he managed Google Fiber and other broadband and energy initiatives.

Barratt currently serves as lead independent director of Intuitive Surgical, Inc., and as a board member of Astera Labs, Inc., as well as several private companies. He holds bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and pure mathematics and physics from the University of Sydney, and master’s and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
