Vertical Aerospace announced manufacturing, government, and partnership agreements during the Farnborough International Airshow while conducting public demonstration flights of its Valo electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

FARNBOROUGH, England, July 25, 2026, (TECH INFO SCENE) -- Vertical Aerospace announced manufacturing initiatives, government support discussions, and partnership agreements during the Farnborough International Airshow while conducting public demonstration flights of its Valo electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

The company demonstrated the aircraft's ability to transition from vertical takeoff to wing-borne flight before returning to a vertical landing. According to Vertical Aerospace, the demonstrations were designed to showcase how the aircraft is intended to operate without the need for a runway.

Vertical Aerospace also announced it is in advanced discussions with the United Kingdom government regarding support of up to £10 million for its planned full-scale production facilities in the country.
The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with UK Export Finance to explore export and customer financing as production expands.
In addition, Vertical Aerospace announced the government-backed ECLiPSE program, which will focus on developing charging and thermal management technologies for electric aircraft.
The company also expanded its work in autonomous aviation through a partnership with Near Earth Autonomy. Vertical Aerospace said the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence has also expressed interest in the company's electric vertical take-off and landing, hybrid-electric, and autonomous aircraft technologies.
During the airshow, Vertical Aerospace joined Honeywell Aerospace's Project VERTI-GO, a European initiative focused on integrating electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft into shared airspace.
The company also announced customer agreements with Sigma Air Mobility and VIC Properties, along with separate agreements with Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation and Cluster2 Airports Company related to advanced air mobility development.
Vertical Aerospace says it is targeting Type Certification of its Valo aircraft in 2029. The company reports that it is continuing flight testing while expanding manufacturing capabilities and working with regulators and infrastructure partners to support future commercial operations.
