The competition invites creatives to develop original commercials using Luma AI’s platform, with the winning entry required to secure a Gold Lion award. The initiative was developed in collaboration with experiential and creative agency DE-YAN and is designed to support advertising ideas that may not have been produced due to financial, technical, or logistical constraints.

“A lot of great advertising never gets made. The Dream Brief is about removing those constraints and letting creatives prove what’s possible when ideas set the ceiling,” said Caroline Ingeborn, Chief Operating Officer of Luma AI.

“Almost everyone in advertising has an idea they loved that never saw the light of day. That shared frustration became the insight behind this project. Rather than fearing how generative AI might change our industry, this is a chance to understand it, by using it to make something that previously had no path to being real,” said Jason Kreher, Chief Creative Officer at DE-YAN and former creative leader at Wieden+Kennedy, Maximum Effort, and Accenture Song.

The Luma Dream Brief will be introduced in multiple phases, beginning with a launch week featuring original films created using Luma AI’s technology. Participants will then be invited to submit their own commercial concepts through the competition’s website by March 22.

In line with Cannes Lions eligibility requirements, Luma AI will provide an official creative brief to ensure that submissions are produced for a real client. Selected finalists will receive paid media support to help ensure that their work is publicly launched and meets award eligibility standards. Submissions will be evaluated by a jury composed of professionals from the advertising and creative industries.

The competition is open to creatives worldwide, and all entries must be produced using Luma AI’s tools. Full rules and submission details are available at www.LumaDreamBrief.com.
