KAWASAKI, Japan, December 24, 2025 (TECH INFO SCENE) — Semiconductor technology company Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has announced the launch of its CMOS dual comparator, the TC75W71FU, which is designed to provide high-speed response and full input/output range capabilities for overcurrent detection in industrial equipment.

The TC75W71FU is built to address the demands of modern industrial environments in which motors and power circuits use large currents that can introduce sudden overcurrent risks. The comparator features propagation delays of up to 45 nanoseconds for low-to-high transitions and 30 nanoseconds for high-to-low transitions. Toshiba reports that these specifications enable rapid shutdown mechanisms intended to support operational safety.

The new comparator supports a full input/output voltage range from ground to the maximum supply voltage and operates with a minimum supply voltage of 1.8V. Its push-pull output configuration eliminates the need for external pull-up resistors and is designed to maintain stable output levels.
Toshiba also announced two related models scheduled for mass production in February 2026: the TC75W72FU, which includes hysteresis for improved noise immunity, and the TC75W73FU, which adds both hysteresis and an open-drain output for compatibility with differing voltage domains.
The TC75W71FU and its related variants are intended for use across a range of industrial and consumer applications, including industrial robots, UPS systems, power supplies, and home appliances.
